I’M SÉRGIO CONDEÇO, ILLUSTRATOR & PAINTER FROM PORTUGAL!
I was born in Estoril but soon left for Africa, having lived in Mozambique until I was 10 years old. I do believe my sense of humor and joy are due to the childhood experienced in this country. Likewise, I also owe it to my mother. My mother was an excellent photographer, excelling in creativity. She inspired me so many times. Having returned to Portugal in the late 70s, I studied fashion design in Oporto. Although I have worked as a designer for 15 years, I never really quite enjoyed it. I used to draw daily, and after turning 40 I decided to do what I had always wanted to do in my life: To illustrate books, newspaper articles, to paint and photograph. Every morning, I open my ´CEBOLA´ studio's door and I am happy.
for 2 years i have been illustrating ‘notícias magazine’ (Diário de Notícias and Jornal de Notícias). i’m still colaborating for some magazines, such as Timeout, Epicur, Gerador and Manifesto.
